Brooklands Automobile Racing Club BARC member bonnet badge
A rare original circa 1930's "Brooklands Automobile Racing Club" chromium plated and enamelled radiator cap member's badge, once part of a collection belonging to C.W.P. Hampton Esq, a gentleman and Director of Hampton & Sons Ltd, Estate Agents and Furnishers, the reverse with maker's details "Spencer London" official issue number "968" and "This Badge is The Property Of The Brooklands Automobile Racing Club", complete with radiator screw cap the mascot attached by single bolt mount. Very good condition, a few minor nicks to the enamel, mounted for display on a wooden base from which it can be easily unscrewed.

Provenance for this "Brooklands Automobile Racing Club" badge is that it was sold through Brooks Auctioneers 10th July 1991 at their "Summer Vintage at Lord's Cricket Ground London" "Veteran, Vintage and Post-Vintage Thoroughbred Motor Cars Including The Collection of The Late C.W.P. Hampton Esq." and comes with a photocopy of part of the catalogue with write up and photograph of Mr. Hampton in a vintage sports car and description of Lot 57.
