King George VI and Queen Elizabeth 1937 Coronation Medal & Case
A scarce dark bronze boxed souvenir medal, produced for the Coronation in 1937. The obverse with Crowned busts left and title "King George VI & Queen Elizabeth". The reverse an allegorical figure of Britannia standing frontal, holding crown within a portico, River Thames, St Paul's Cathedral and battleship in the foreground, title "Crowned A.D. 1937". Very good condition, complete with original cardboard box with faint details to the lid of a Crown and "Coronation 1937", this now with scuffs, age wear and one flap to the lid partially detached.
