RAF No 77 Squadron Royal Air Force Badge c1940s

A rare original pre 1945 gilt and enamel RAF No 77 Squadron badge, depicting a Scottish thistle and with Latin motto "Esse Potius Quam Videri" (To be rather than seen), the reverse with maker's details "Fattorini & Sons Ld Bradford Works Birmingham". Very good condition, original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, minor stress mark to crown.
